Corner Desk Furniture- L-Shaped Desks or Computer Towers?

There are tons of options on the market for corner desk furniture.  Two of the most popular options are L-shaped desks and computer towers.  L-shaped desks are great if you have plenty of space and like a large desktop surface to work on.  Computer towers save space while still giving you the room for all of your computer equipment and other necessities.  Below, you can see an example of both types of corner desk furniture.

First is the computer tower.  A very popular option is the Studio RTA A-Tower Computer Desk, measuring 48” W x 25” D x 73” H.  This desk features a good sized desktop with a slide out keyboard shelf, a lower shelf for a CPU, printer or other storage, and two upper shelves.  This desk is compact, so it will work for a number of spaces.  It’s also affordable, costing around $130.

Next is the L-shaped corner desk.  A great example of this type of desk is the Bestar Elite Corner Computer Workstation, which measures 35.4" H x 67" W x 67" D.  The desk has a contemporary style and is available in two different finishes, Tuscany Brown or Honey.  The work surface has a melamine finish that resists scratches, stains and burns. 

The Elite Corner Computer Workstation has a large desktop to give you plenty of room to work.  It also has a small hutch with a raised monitor platform and small cubbies and drawers.  The desk itself has a slide out keyboard shelf, two file drawer for legal or letter sized files and a locking cabinet that you can use to store your CPU or other items.  The price for this desk is around $475, so it’s not the cheapest desk available, but still very affordable considering its size and all of the storage options it gives you.

As you can probably see, both of these types of corner desk furniture have their benefits.  You’ll need to determine which features are most important to you to decide whether a L-shaped desk or computer tower would work best for you.
